First off, I’d like to apologise for not updating throughout the month. Foxfire went off the rails a little and I just didn’t feel enthused to write it – it felt like such a grand effort to even write a few words some days, and while the storyline excites me, the writing doesn’t and it’s irritating me to force a creative process that clearly isn’t going to budge.
My writing has felt like this for quite a while now, and I feel like it would be the sensible thing to take a short hiatus from writing without that constant nagging in the back of my head about having to do x, y, or z. Taking a break will give me chance to take stock of everything that’s going on, make detailed plans for all of my projects and ensure that when I get back into the swing of things, I’ll be much more efficient with my writing process.
I’m still doing creative things, mind you. The other day, I wrote the first poem I’ve done in about a year, and I’ve been making music as my alter ego STRIIDER. I’ve also been taking opportunities to work on my mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – a parallel storyline which I’m creating to allow players to live the life of a regular adventurer in a forest-covered, mountainous land. If I get to a good alpha stage, perhaps I’ll post some developments on here. For now though, here’s a few screenshots of the basic landscape.
As I’ve said, it’s a work in progress, and these screenshots are already out of date! It’s a relaxing process of creation, and serves as a pleasant break from writing when I’m in the right frame of mind.
But yes, that’s my update for now. I’ll keep you in the loop with any changes, but for now, I’m going to enjoy the aforementioned break and wish you a very pleasant November.
