Just writing to let you know about the build up to my big trip to Japan. As you may have guessed from the title, there isn’t very long at all to go until I get my flight (at 6:10am on Friday no less) and make my way over to the venerable Land of the Rising Sun.
In the meantime, I’ve been juggling packing my suitcase (a lot more difficult now that I know I’m only allowed one large one), working on NaNoWriMo (I’m so far behind it’s untrue), making phone calls to various places and seeing my family. On top of that, I’ve also been trying to keep my Japanese up to spec – a little difficult given that my knowledge of katakana and kanji leave a lot to be desired, but I’m trying at least.
At this current juncture, I am a mere 8,461 words into my NaNo project, Kagami. However, it is fun to write. I created the protagonist Lena before I even really had the plot line, and I really like her. For once, she wasn’t a character I particularly based on anyone I knew. She has elements of people I know, sure, but only in the form of the most basic of character traits. So in her character development, I guess I developed my own character as a writer. Which means double the development! How’s that for a deal?
I’ll keep you updated with further shenanigans, but for now, this is me signing off – remember to rate the blog, comment the blog and subscribe if you want to see more blogs like this one.
